EL BIEN Y EL MAL
SEGUNDA PARTE
Pero la pregunta “natural” e imprescindible es: ¿Es la existencia del mal “evil” algo inevitable en la humanidad y en la naturaleza?
La respuesta aparente es no. Sin embargo, este “no” no es tan categórico. El mal, “evil” es inherente a todo fenómeno, proceso,
acción o ser que existe en el universo. Analicemos algunos ejemplos entre miles y miles a mano que respaldan esta hipótesis:
1. El cuerpo humano o de cualquier ser vivo. Cuando una persona nace lleva dentro bacterias buenas y malas transmitidas por sus padres. Si se produce un desequilibrio, casi siempre negativo, la persona se enferma y si no se atiende a tiempo y debidamente terminará en la tumba a cualquier edad. Este cuerpo, de una complejidad astronómica, está compuesto de células con una conexión armoniosa y generalmente en estado sano, pero si sucede un desarreglo, un mal funcionamiento en una o varias de las células vecinas, el proceso degenerativo pudiera provocar el surgimiento de un cáncer u otro mal altamente perjudicial.
2. Los alimentos que comemos cada día si no se manipulan, preservan o se siguen los procedimientos adecuados pueden con facilidad contaminarse y enfermar a quien los consume.
3. El universo cuenta con elementos o componentes buenos y malos. Los misteriosos y poderosos agujeros negros que poseen un campo magnético tan fuerte que no deja pasar ni la luz, devoran estrellas, planetas y hasta galaxias enteras. Y en todas las galaxias hay al menos uno de éstos, incluyendo nuestra propia galaxia La Via Láctea.
4. La vida en nuestro planeta, en apariencia, es bella, libre de elementos y fenómenos malignos. No obstante, todos sabemos que dentro de esa belleza se esconde el mal, “natural evil”. Los tornados, huracanes, terremotos, tsunamis, sequías prolongadas, inundaciones, etc.
En otras palabras, el mal, “evil”, vive o está al acecho en todo fenómeno, acción y cuerpo existente en el universo. Sin embargo, el ser humano, a pesar de estar expuesto constantemente a nefastos efectos y elementos perturbadores, pudiera escapar o reducir bastante sus efectos si vive en un país en que sus dirigentes toman conciencia e implementan medidas en este sentido en cuanto se refiere a “moral evil”. También tal reducción pudiera tener lugar con relación al “natural evil”. Es decir, los fenómenos naturales que afectan negativamente la vida de los seres humanos por medio del avance de la tecnología. Es decir, la posibilidad de detectar con suficiente tiempo de antelación la ocurrencia de tornados, terremotos, tsunamis, meteoritos, etc. Pero esa tecnología resulta beneficiosa en grado superlativo cuando provienen o están en manos de personas normales, bien intencionadas. De lo contrario, serán, de hecho, medios o instrumentos altamente nocivos y peligrosos para el bienestar de la humanidad.
En resumen, el bien y el mal son como dos polos opuestos de un mismo imán. Enemigos inseparables en una guerra continua y silenciosa.
Ahora surge otra pregunta obvia y sumamente importante: ¿Puede existir el “bien” sin la existencia del mal (evil)? Según mis investigaciones en algunos medios y de mis propias conclusiones, la respuesta es no. Ilustremos esto con algunos ejemplos y argumentos: 1.Para que un cuerpo se mueva sobre una superficie o el espacio tiene que haber fricción. Principio de acción y reacción.
Si la vida de los seres humanos se extendiera más allá de los límites normales actuales, llegará obligatoriamente un momento en ser seleccionados a morir para dar espacio a las nuevas generaciones porque los cuerpos y mentes jovenes son imprescindibles para el desarrollo de la sociedad y de la vida misma. El novelista y ensayista portugués, premio Noble de Lteratura, José Saramago escribió una novela corta: Ensayo sobre la muerte que muestra de modo muy original este asunto. La muerte es la antítesis de la vida. Nadie quiere morir joven o de manera prematura. Sin embargo, nada es eterno; ni el mal ni tampoco el bien. Ambos se complementan.
¿De qué manera pudiera definirse el bien si no existe el mal?
a. Nadie disfrutará una obra de ficción sin la existencia de conflictos, problemas, el mal. Los lectores identifican el mal y junto al protagonista quieren vencerlo y finalmente gozar de la victoria del bien sobre su oponente. De lo contrario, ese lector es un elemento descarriado de la sociedad porque desea el triunfo del mal.
b.La necesidad es lo que promueve el desarrollo. Necesidad de vencer una enfermedad; necesidad de viajar de un punto a otro más rápido; necesidad de mejorar las condiciones de vida de los ciudadanos de un país; etc. Todo lo establecido o que opone resistencia a esos cambios cualitativos son, en mayor o menor grado, hechos, fenómenos, elementos, estados de la materia o espíritu opuestos al bien, y, en consecuencia, aliados directa o indirectamente del mal.
c. Los procesos de fermentación en el cual se crean bacterias que transforman en cierto tiempo un líquido con una composición química en otra, diferente de su estado original como el vino, yogurt, queso, cerveza, etc. Éste es un proceso en el que participan elementos antagónicos con un fin determinado.
d. La aplicación de un electroshock a un enfermo mental o a un paciente que se le ha detenido el corazón súbitamente con propósitos benignos.
e. Una cirugía a un paciente para removerle o curarle un órgano o una parte del cuerpo que no funciona adecuadamente; esto conlleva la aplicación de un procedimiento radical, nada amigable, para eliminar un mal.
f. Incendiar una zona o franja para contrarrestar un fuego grande. Es decir, utilizar un mal menor para eliminar uno mayor con un objetivo benéfico.
g. En un país que no existe una oposición legal y respetada, es, de hecho, una dictadura. Las órdenes y políticas de gobierno son dictadas verticalmente por el cacique en jefe, un ser por encima de las leyes sin la menor discusión con el objetivo de encontrar un consenso que responda a las verdaderas necesidades de sus ciudadanos y el país. De este modo, este país estará en permanente peligro de aplicar políticas erróneas con consecuencias impredecibles que casi siempre terminan creando el mal y la devastación. La lucha de ideas es necesaria para promover el desarrollo, paz y bienestar.
Los ejemplos a citar que respaldan esta hipótesis son interminables.
De todo esto, así como innumerables ejemplos no citados, se concluye que el mal no es una acción o elemento tan ajeno a cualquier fenómeno natural o humano. Cuando éste no existe, habrá que crearlo con el fin de resolver un serio problema o poner en movimiento un cuerpo o fenómeno que sin su participación perecerá o quedará inerte para siempre. Los conflictos, no totalmente destructivos, son necesarios para el desarrollo de un proceso. Los problemas existen, encontrar una solución es la dinámica de la vida. La perfección es imposible a causa de la existencia de elementos y corrientes antagónicas que lo impiden. La evolución de la tecnología, ciencia y vida del ser humano están sujetos a continuos cambios en una tendencia creciente, positiva. Esta última es la razón que determina la imposibilidad de la perfección ya que detendría el proceso evolutivo cualitativo.
Por otro lado, si fuera posible alcanzar el estado totalmente puro de un proceso, libre de impurezas y defectos, esto negaría el proceso evolutivo cualitativo y, por consiguiente, se convertiría en algo inerte, inactivo, destinado a morir o convertirse en una pieza de museo.
Por lo tanto, las contradicciones, lucha de contrarios, el antagonismo, son imprescindibles para la evolución y el desarrollo de todo proceso.
Y recordemos:
“El bien y el mal son enemigos inseparables; cuando uno prevalece, el otro renace”.
